Terms of Use

1. Purpose and acceptance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to the website, member areas and features of Cœurs Hors Ligne ("CHL").

Creating an account and using the service implies acceptance of these Terms and, when a paid service is purchased, the Terms of Sale applicable at the time of the order.

2. Adults only

CHL is intended exclusively for persons aged 18 or over.

The creation or use of an account by a minor is prohibited. Content featuring minors in the context of a dating profile is also prohibited.

3. Account, security and accuracy of information

Each user agrees to provide truthful, accurate and up-to-date information and not to impersonate a third party.

Login details and account access methods are personal. The user must take reasonable precautions to preserve their confidentiality and inform CHL if unauthorised access is suspected.

CHL may implement technical security, session control, access limitation, fraud prevention or profile verification measures.

4. Profiles, photos and certification

Profiles may be subject to checks, including consistency, photos, email or identity depending on the relevant process.

Certification is intended to strengthen trust but does not constitute an absolute guarantee of identity or any guarantee regarding a person's future behaviour.

5. Prohibited conduct

• scams, extortion attempts and fraudulent requests for money;
• identity theft, fake profiles and deliberately misleading information;
• harassment, threats, coercive or intimidating behaviour;
• hateful, discriminatory content or content inciting violence;
• pornographic or nude content contrary to CHL rules;
• sexual, commercial or fraudulent exploitation of members;
• unauthorised disclosure of another person's personal data or private content;
• attempts to bypass security, moderation or payment systems;
• bots, automated accounts and mass data extraction;
• use contrary to the law or these Terms.

6. Reporting, moderation and sanctions

Members may report a profile, content or behaviour that may violate these rules.

Depending on the seriousness, repetition of the conduct and available evidence, CHL may in particular issue a warning, restrict certain features, temporarily suspend an account or impose a ban.

7. Matching and compatibility

Questionnaires, scores and compatibility suggestions are tools designed to assist introductions. They are neither psychological expertise nor a promise of a relationship, mutual understanding, a meeting or romantic success.

8. Communications, video calls and meetings

Members remain responsible for their exchanges and decisions to meet. CHL recommends protecting sensitive information, remaining vigilant regarding requests for money and favouring prudent conditions for meetings.

9. Paid services and Discovery Pass

Certain access or features may require payment. Prices, durations, benefits, renewal arrangements and commercial conditions are specified in the Terms of Sale and during the ordering process.

The Discovery Pass credits a defined amount of usage time. Its timer is linked to the member's active sessions: time is deducted during any active connection and stops when the last session is closed or technically expires. Purchases may be cumulative where the offer allows it.

10. Sessions and multiple devices

Where the service allows it, the same account may have several active sessions. For features based on time credit, the timer remains active as long as at least one valid session remains open.

11. Content published by members

The user remains responsible for the content they provide. They guarantee that they hold the necessary rights to publish it and authorise CHL to display and process it to the extent necessary for the operation of the service.

12. CHL intellectual property

Elements specific to CHL remain protected by applicable rights.

Any reproduction, representation, adaptation, extraction, distribution or exploitation, even partial, of protected elements of the service is prohibited without prior written authorisation, except where permitted by law.

13. Personal data and cookies

The processing of personal data is described in CHL's Privacy Policy. The rules relating to cookies and other trackers are set out on the dedicated Cookies page.

14. Account suspension and deletion

The user may request deletion of their account in accordance with the procedures offered by CHL. Permanent deletion is irreversible, subject to data that must be retained to comply with a legal obligation, ensure security, establish evidence or defend a right.

Voluntary deletion of an account does not automatically result in reimbursement for a service already provided or amounts that remain legally due.

15. Availability, maintenance and changes

CHL may carry out maintenance, security or update operations that may temporarily interrupt all or part of the service.

16. Liability

CHL provides a platform for introductions and tools intended to encourage safer and more relevant exchanges. CHL cannot guarantee the individual behaviour of a member, the complete absence of fraud, the outcome of a relationship or that a meeting will take place.

These Terms are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of the mandatory protections from which they benefit.
